In 1982
East Asian Stock Exchanges Conference (EASEC) was founded as an informal organization
   

- Its object was to promote friendship and to facilitate the exchange of information among member exchanges

 
In 1990
East Asian Oceania Stock Exchanges Federation (EAOSEF) was founded as an official international federation of stock exchanges
   

A formal constitution was adopted

 
In 1998
Charter was revised.
   

- The EAOSEF altered the basis of its membership system from country- based one to the more liberalized exchange-based system that it has today

 
November 12, in 1998
Working Committee (WC) was established as a standing committee
The 1st Working Committee Meeting was held in Singapore
 
April 7, in 2005
EAOSEF changed its name to Asian and Oceanian Stock Exchanges Federation (AOSEF)
Charter was amended
- In order to expand its geographical boundary, Charter was amended, which allowed two of Indian stock exchanges to newly become member of the Federation.
